Chattanooga Argentine Tango Collective
We have a very rare opportunity to meet, to learn with and enjoy the company of Norma Gomez Tomasi. Norma is a unique woman, who in my opinion is probably one of the few talented individuals in the world of Argentine tango as well as very underrated.

When I first came in contact with Argentine tango, back in 2015 in Moscow, I studied with Daria Zakharova, who is one of Norma’s long-time students. Daria taught with Norma’s (and Ernesto's) unique patented method, where the emphasis was placed on each unique body in a collaborative setting where people were taught to listen to their own bodies, their movements and the movements of their partners on a deeper level. I was lucky enough to have experienced learning with Norma during her short but frequent trips to Russia in the subsequent years, and I can say without hesitation that if I had started learning tango in any other way (pretty much all of the workshops I have experienced in Europe or USA, ie learning sequences, steps, being told what the correct way to move is) I would have quit on the spot and never had delved further than 1-2 lessons.
Norma opens a whole new universe that you didn’t even suspect existed, all within you.

On this site, you can familiarize yourself with Norma's unique biography, read testimonials from her students and we might even have an opportunity to meet with Norma via Zoom before you decide to take part in this event. See Q & A section to leave questions for discussion for Norma.

With this short introduction, I invite you to take a chance and leap into a four-day
Argentine tango and folklore collaboration weekend with Norma Gomez Tomasi. This
workshop weekend is open to COMPLETE BEGINNERS, intermediate/advanced level dancers as well as professional dancers. I have absolutely zero doubts that anyone who participates would leave feeling fulfilled, inspired and wanting more.
What you will leave with is complete re-focusing with tools to cultivate your own unique dance, giving you the opportunity to stop wanting to constantly fill the space with figures and instead slow down and feel the connection between you, the feminine and masculine energies within you and your partner with more clarity and understanding of how they interact. This series will change the way you listen and interpret the music, embrace, make your dance more daring and full of personality that is unique to YOU.
The dates have not been set nor have the topics, as it depends on YOU. The two possible weekends include November 27-30 or December 4 - 7th. The google form on this site is the pre-registration form. Filling out this form does NOT guarantee you a spot, does not obligate you to participate. However, I strongly urge you to make your wishes known in terms of the topics and the dates. You can choose multiple options.
Location of this event will be in the scenic city of Chattanooga, TN. I am happy to work with you and help you find a host if you are traveling and are on a budget.
If you have every wanted to start dancing tango, or delve deeper into your dance, this is your chance to do so. Norma will not be traveling outside of Argentina to teach after this trip.
