A marvelous demonstration of "Tango Nuevo" style can been seen here. Unfortunately, this video was posted to youtube with the names of wonderful couple. If you recognize them, please email me!

tangostudent on Youtube consistently posts high-quality video clips. Two examples: This is Sean Dockery and Charity Lebron doing a didactic demo of the Milonga. And this features Homer Ladas and Lisette Perelle doing didactic demo showing the rich possibilities the basic step. Neither of this videos contains anything "flashy", but the camera work is crystal clear. You can learn a lot just by watching.

From Syracuse, Sicily - Claudio Forte and Barbara Carpino dance a pretty good Tango Nuevo.

Three tangos that couldn't be more different.

Claudio and Diana
Marano "Chicho" Frumboli and Lucía Mazer
Enrique and Guillermo de Fazio

Andrea Ponzetti and Jorge Udrisard perform a delightful interpretation of "Mala Junta" by Osvaldo Pugliese. Andrea's dress alone will leave you speechless. Visit their website to view another tango performance in better quality video.

A classic video of the late Miguel Balmaceda dancing salon tango with an uncredited partner. Very elegant. Thanks to Ney Melo for uploading this to Youtube.

Finally. Someone has posted a video of Norberto "Pulpo" Esbréz & Luiza Paes to Youtube. Pulpo and Luiza dance with extraordinary originality and fluidity. They make it look so easy. And speaking from personal experience, they are wonderful teachers and extremely nice people.

By the way, it's not too late to sign-up for Pulpo's Tango Week 2007, Nov. 10 - 17 in B.A.

Two videos today. Geraldine Rojas and Javier Rodriguez dance a milonga and a tango. I never knew about this exceptional couple until I came across their videos on Youtube just a few days ago. Alas, it appears they no longer collaborate.

Geraldine will be at Chicago's Tango Joven festival (July 6-9) partnering with Ezequiel Paludi. I couldn't locate any upcoming workshops with Javier in the U.S.

This video of Fabian Salas y Carolina del Rivero appears to be a "workshop summary" demonstration. Fabian and Carolina have a very natural, fluid style that I admire very much. They are also superb instructors and are easily one of the most sought-after couples for Argentine Tango workshops and festivals worldwide.

Fabian and Carolina will be featured at the the New Orleans/Baton Rouge Tango Weekend, June 22-24.

This is a video I showed in class about a month ago. Orlando Paiva Jr. & Marianna Melling dance a perfect tango at one of my old stomping grounds, Studio Gracia. His father, of course, was the magnificent Orlando Paiva.

Taken at a workshop in Paris, this is a nicely shot video of one of Tango's truly outstanding couples, Osvaldo Zotto & Lorena Ermocida.

Thanks to sites like youtube.com, there are now literally thousands of Argentine Tango videos posted online, available to anyone for free. I think this is an amazing resource, since we can now view, in "real-time", the astonishing creativity and diversity of Argentine Tango as it is danced in communities all over the world; from Buenos Aires to Turkey and from Australia to the USA. In this video blog, I'll try to present a "Best of the Internet Collection" of videos representing all styles of Argentine Tango (Salon, Milonguero, "Close-embrace", Tango Nuevo, NeoTango Alternative . . . ) using production quality as the prime selection criterion.

OK. First up is this video of a very talented and creative creative couple, Evan Griffiths & Rebecca Smith dancing two tangos at the Eugene Tango Center. Enjoy!
